The ATF is saddened of the passing of the former President of the Asian Tennis Federation, Col Salvador Andrada, who passed away on the morning of 8th April 2020 in Philippines. Col Salvador Andrada was an accomplished Sports Administrator and had held various distinguished posts in Sports during his time. Asian Tennis Federation had already suspended all the tennis tournaments and tennis related activities till Monday 8th June 2020, keeping in line the decision of ITF/ ATP/WTA with the evolving situation of covid-19 across the globe. The above effected cancellation of all the tournaments from the week of 16th March 2020 till 7th June 2020 effectively means no ATF 14& under tournaments for a duration of 12 weeks. Asian Tennis Federation joins the sport’s governing body, the ITF, and the professional tours, the ATP and WTA in announcing a further suspension of all ATF tournament activity until 13th July, 2020 in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Asian Tennis Federation had earlier suspended all the tennis activities till 8th June 2020. The All England Lawn Tennis Club and LTA also made an announcement to cancel The Championships , Wimbledon for the year 2020. Asian Tennis Federation will make sincere efforts to ensure that as many tournaments as possible can be rescheduled for later in the year.

The Olympic Games had been due to begin on 24 July, with the tennis event scheduled to run from 25 July – 2 August and the Paralympic Tennis Event running from 25 August – 5 September, but will now take place “no later than Summer 2021”. ATF FURTHER POSTPONES ALL EVENTS TILL MONDAY, 8TH JUNE 2020
Asian Tennis Federation is joining the International Sport’s governing body, the ITF, and the Professional Tours, the ATP and WTA in announcing a suspension of all tournament activity until Monday June 8th, 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Asian Tennis Federation had earlier suspended all the tennis activities till and inclusion of week of 20th April 2020. Asian Tennis Federation will make sincere efforts to ensure that as many tournaments as possible can be rescheduled for later in the year. Asian Tennis Federation office remains open for business as usual, with staff currently working from home and the ATF staff would be available on emails for any assistance.
Asian Tennis Federation has announced a six-week postponement of all tournament activity in response to increasing health and safety concerns relating to the current COVID-19 pandemic. The move brings the Asian Tennis Federation in line with the sport’s governing body, the International Tennis Federation, and the ATP Tour, both of which made similar announcements on Thursday. All Asian Tennis Federation events scheduled until (and including) the week of April 20th will therefore be postponed with immediate effect. The format which was played over 5 days, saw the top 2 nations after the round robin play advancing to the Play Offs. The ITF West Asia 13 & Under Development Championships 2019 was held in Dubai, UAE from 5th – 12th December 2019. A total of 11 countries participated in the Championship. In the two-leg championship, Kasra Rahmani of Iran emerged victorious beating his countryman Amirali Ghavam twice in the single boys finals 6-4, 6-0 and 6-2, 6-2. Shintaro Mochizuki made history on Sunday 14th July 2019 by becoming the first Japanese player to win a Grand Slam title beating Carlos Gimeno Valero of Spain by 6-3, 6-2, in the Wimbledon boys singles final. The number of tournaments , players and the countries hosting these tournaments have grown steadily over the years. The 14 & under rankings have now been established strongly and are being considered for making many development related decisions. Rushil khosla prevails at Grade A 14& Under tournament in Kazakhstan
Rushil Khosla from India proved too good for his opponents in the above tournament. He won the tournament without dropping a set and defeating his doubles partner Danir Kaldybekov (KAZ) 60, 61 in a one-sided finals. Later Rushil and Danir combined well to win the doubles crown by winning the doubles final 62, 64. Double crown in the tournament will make Rushil climb up to top ranking in the ATF U14 rankings. 2019 ITF South East Asian 12&U Regional Qualifying
The 12 and Under Regional Qualifying is underway in Philippines for 2019 ITF South East Asian Tournament. We have had the seedings finalized and the order of the play released for Day 1. Please find them attached.
The finals of $3000 FinIQ–ATT Asian Ranking Women’s tennis championship turned out to be a one-sided affair as wild card Vaidehi Chaudhari of Ahmedabad easily defeated Soha Sadiq from Bengaluru 6-2, 6-1 at Metrocity Sports Club, Kothrud on Sunday. Sadiq started well by holding her serve in the first game, but her inability to keep the ball inside the courts allowed Chaudhari to break her in the third and fifth game and wrap up the first set 6-1. “My injury was troublesome and I kept making errors so things become tougher. First ATT Tournament Tournament saw some interesting results
Asian Tennis Tour kick started with the first tournament of the season in the Men’s Category in business capital of India, Mumbai. The inaugural tournament saw participation from 61 players. The finals was an interesting battle between the 6thseed and ITF world ranked player Prithvi Sekhar and Ishaque Eqbal. Ishaque routed Sekhar in an easy 2 set win, with score line of 6-1, 6-2. Result from the first ATT tournament goes on to reflect on the Purpose of ATT of providing opportunities to the National ranked and unranked players to get the exposure at Pan Asian level.

The Junior Davis Cup Asia-Oceania was held in Nonthaburi, Thailand 8thto 13thApril, 2019. Teams from 16 countries took part in this week-long event. Syria finished in the top four alongside Australia, Japan and Hong Kong and will be representing the nation in the Junior Davis Cup Finals scheduled to be held in Nona, USA. It has been quite a journey for Syria which started at JDC Asia-Oceania pre-Qualifying event in Colombo, Sri Lanka. 29th – 31st Oct The 19th ITF Southern & East Asian Regional Coaches Conference was held at the Hong Kong Institute of Sport from 29th-31st October 2018. Over 250 coaches from 29 nations were in attendance at the Conference, hosted for the first time in Hong Kong.
