Two back to back tournaments in the city of Aktobe, Kazakhstan marked the return of Asian 14 & under circuit, after the circuit was suspended in March 2020 due to covid-19 pandemic.
A new Category 2A was formulated, on resumption of the circuit, to give boost to the tournaments locally at Asian 14&U Circuit till 31st March 2021. Tournaments in Category 2A are only open for the domestic players of the host country.
In the month of March 2020, the restriction was imposed on the Asian 14&U tournaments and more than 50 tournaments had to be cancelled across Asia, and now with the resumption of the circuit , lot more tournaments would be hosted to enable young budding kids of Asia an opportunity to show case their talent.
The first two events saw a full singles main draw of 32 for both boys and girls in each of the tournaments.
In boys, Demid Gorbachev won the single titles in both the weeks after defeating No 1 seed, Mansur Shaken by 6-4,6-1 and No 4 seed Damir Zhalgasbay by 6-4, 6-1 respectively, in first and the second tournament.
In girls, No. 4 seed Aiganym Kassymova claimed the single title toppling No. 1 seed Anastasiya Krymkova in a three setter match by 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 in week 1. No. 5 seed Ariana Gogulina lifted the single trophy after defeating Malika Amirgalieva 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 in the finals of week 2.
On a positive note, more than 15 tournaments have already been listed up so far on the Asian 14&U Calendar.
