Asia/Oceania’s Finest: Teams Qualify for ITF WJTC Girls’ Finals. Kuching, Malaysia.

Qatar’s Rashed Nawaf claimed the title of ITF Asia 14 & Under Closed Championships organized by the Qatar Tennis Federation in collaboration with Asian Tennis Federation at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex. It is the first ITF Asia 14 & Under Closed Championships with 60 players participated in the Championship.

Nawaf easily defeated Ayushmaan Arjeria of India 6-2 6-3 calming his victory title in the boys Singles final. Hong Kong’s Man Wai Chloris Li won the singles girl championship trophy defeating Q. Maftunabonu of Uzbekistan 6-1, 6-4.

In the doubles final, India’s duo Ayushmaan Arjeria and Arunava Majumder won the boys doubles title defeating Kwok Shun Dasson Chan and Max Shun Wang Kwok of Hong Kong 2-6, 7-6(5), 10-8. While M. Li and Lok Shu Tang of Hong Kong won the doubles title easily beating Uzbekistan duos Q. Maftunabonu and A. Munisa 6-1, 6-2.

“We are proud that Qatar’s Rashed Nawaf was crowned Asian champion as the Federation is doing whatever does it takes to promote and develop tennis in the state of Qatar” Tareq Zainal said.
