Naomi Osaka, 4th seed, moved to semifinals at the Western & Southern Open coming back from deficit of a set to defeat seed number 12 Anett Kontaveit.
1st set was closely contested and went to the Estonian, Anett. Osaka raised her game to different level in the second set to pocket it at 6-2.
Up next for Osaka will be the 14th seed Mertens who eased past American qualifier Jessica Pegula 6-1, 6-3 earlier in the day.
