Asian Tennis Federation is saddened to learn of sudden demise of Mr. Edwin Lee, the former President of the Singapore Tennis Association, who passed away on 29th May 2021.
Mr. Lee was president of Singapore Tennis Association for 15 long years from 2000-2015. After his tenure as president, Mr. Lee was still attached with the STA as an advisor till date.
Pillar of strength and driving force behind the development of tennis in Singapore, he generously donated to the federation during a period of insolvency in the early 2000s. Mr. Lee spearheaded the grass root development program and setting up of the professional tour in Singapore.
Mr. Lee was very helpful to the players as well and was instrumental in setting up and funding the scholarship grant programme for the national players.
Mr. Lee would always be remembered as visionary of growth of Tennis in Singapore and will be deeply missed.
