Ankita Raina from India had to sweat it out as she defeated Australian player, Arina Rodionova in a hard fought 3 setter. After conceding the opening set , Ankita came strongly to clinch the victory by winning the next 2 sets. In the end the score line read 36, 6-1, 6-4 in favour of Indian girl.
Raina dominated the match after losing the opening set against the Australian veteran in her quest to enter the main draw of Roland Garros 2021.
There were a lot of interruptions due to Rain but Ankita kept her focus which decided her fate in French Open 2021.
Ankita Raina had reached the 3rd round in the Australian Open , earlier in 2021 at the first grand slam of the year.. She would like to improve upon the qualifying loss at the Aussie Open by qualifying for the main draw at RG
India’s No 1 singles player, Raina will next be up against the world number 125, Greet Minnen from Belgium in 2nd round of qualification on Wednesday, 26th May.
