The Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) successfully concluded the ATF Administrator Development Workshop 2026, held on 3–4 September at OPUS Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Hosted with the valuable support of the Vietnam Tennis Federation (VTF), the two-day workshop brought together delegates from National Federations across Asian nations. ATF Board Members, ATF Executive Officers and representatives from World Tennis were also present, while several other World Tennis representatives joined the proceedings through video conference. The participating nations represented all five regions of Asia.
The workshop provided administrators with an opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss their responsibilities and share the challenges faced by National Federations in their day-to-day operations. The presentations and interactive discussions encouraged participants to learn from one another’s experiences and explore practical ways to improve tennis administration across the continent.
The programme also included discussions on the calendar for the coming year, giving the participating federations an opportunity to understand the plans ahead and share their views.
Delegates were also given a sneak peek at an exciting new initiative being developed by ATF. Expected to be introduced later this year, the initiative aims to bring the entire Asian tennis family—including National Federations, athletes, parents and coaches—together under one roof and create a stronger, more connected tennis community across the continent.
The presence of delegates from different regions added considerable value to the discussions. Despite the varying structures and circumstances of the participating federations, many common administrative challenges were identified, creating space for useful conversations and stronger cooperation.
During the workshop, Bhutan and Bahrain also expressed their interest in hosting the next edition of the ATF Administrator Development Workshop in 2027. Their interest was warmly received and reflected the value that National Federations place on this annual platform.
The Vietnam Tennis Federation played an important role in the successful delivery of the workshop. Its officials and staff provided support with local transportation, airport assistance, accommodation coordination and the overall arrangements for delegates throughout their stay in Ho Chi Minh City.
VTF also arranged a city tour, allowing delegates to experience some of the landmarks and character of Ho Chi Minh City outside the formal workshop programme.
The final day concluded with a special cruise dinner hosted by the President of the Vietnam Tennis Federation on board the Saigon Riverside Cruise. The evening provided a relaxed setting for participants to interact, strengthen professional relationships and reflect on the discussions held during the workshop.
The Asian Tennis Federation extends its sincere appreciation to the President of VTF, the Vietnam Tennis Federation team and everyone involved in the local arrangements for their generous hospitality and support.
ATF also thanks all participating National Federations, delegates, Board Members, Executive Officers and World Tennis representatives for their active involvement and contribution. The exchanges in Ho Chi Minh City underlined the importance of continued communication, cooperation and knowledge-sharing among tennis administrators throughout Asia.
