Iran, Jordan and Saudi Arabia secured promotion to the 2027 Davis Cup World Group II Play-offs after the conclusion of the Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Group III competition at the National Tennis Centre in Kuala Lumpur.
Eight nations—Iran, Jordan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Uzbekistan and Vietnam—competed over four days for three places in next year’s World Group II Play-offs. The teams first played in two round-robin groups before the competition concluded with the classification ties.
Iran and Jordan secured promotion by finishing at the top of their respective groups. The two teams then met in the final classification tie to decide the overall Group III standings, with Iran winning 2-0.
Saudi Arabia joined them in the 2027 World Group II Play-offs after defeating Singapore in the promotion play-off to claim the third and final promotion place.
Singapore, Vietnam and the Philippines will remain in Asia/Oceania Group III next year, while hosts Malaysia and Uzbekistan were relegated to Asia/Oceania Group IV.
The competition once again highlighted the depth of tennis across the region, with every nation fighting for either promotion or survival. Iran, Jordan and Saudi Arabia will now move on to the 2027 Davis Cup World Group II Play-offs, while the remaining teams will look ahead to next year’s regional competitions.
