The Davis Cup Juniors Asia/Oceania Pre-Qualifying event has begun in Colombo, Sri Lanka, with teams gathering for the opening ceremony and the start of a busy week of junior team tennis.
A total of 15 nations are taking part in Colombo: Sri Lanka, Macau, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Oman, Myanmar, Turkmenistan, Malaysia, Laos, Guam, Philippines, Vietnam, Nepal, Mongolia, and Pacific Oceania. Over the week, teams will compete in the ITF junior team format, where each tie is decided by singles and doubles rubbers.
The stakes are clear. The top two teams from this pre-qualifying event will earn their place in the Asia/Oceania Final Qualifying stage, to be played in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, in May 2026, where they will join the nations already placed into the Final Qualifying draw.
With matches now underway, Colombo becomes another key stop for the junior tennis, offering young players a chance to compete, learn, and represent their countries in a true team environment.
