The Billie Jean King Cup Juniors (Asia/Oceania) Pre-Qualifying event was held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, from 16–21 March 2026, bringing together Under-16 girls’ teams from across the region for a week of junior team tennis.
Across the week, teams battled through ties decided by singles and doubles rubbers, where depth matters as much as talent. It’s the kind of tournament where players learn fast, how to handle pressure, how to support teammates, and how to bounce back quickly because the schedule moves on the next morning.
After a full week of ties, Singapore finished 1st in the final standings, with Sri Lanka 2nd, Maldives 3rd, and Myanmar 4th.
With the pre-qualifying stage completed, Singapore and Sri Lanka now move on to the Asia/Oceania Final Qualifying stage. There, they will join 14 nations already placed in the Final Qualifying field, including a few of the region’s strongest junior teams such as China, India, Korea Republic, Japan, Uzbekistan and others. The Final Qualifying event is scheduled for 12–17 May in Shymkent, Kazakhstan.
