The ATF 14&U Grade A Tournament for East Asia came to a close in Wuhan, China, after a strong week of junior tennis featuring some of the most promising young players from across the region. The tournament, held from 23 to 30 May 2026, was part of the ATF 14&U Grade A circuit. After the West Asia event held in Bahrain earlier this year, the focus moved to East Asia, with Wuhan hosting the next important stage of the competition.
Players from several Asian nations took part in the individual event, making it another valuable platform for young boys and girls to test themselves at a strong regional level. For many of them, tournaments like this are an important step in learning how to compete, travel, handle pressure, and grow through match experience.
In the boys’ singles final, Wei Yiran produced a strong performance to win the title, defeating L. Kowitwatthanachai 6-4 6-1. Wei had shown good form through the tournament and finished the week with a convincing victory in the final.
The girls’ singles title went to Wang Yanke, who defeated Li Xiaoke 6-0 7-6(7). After taking the opening set comfortably, Wang was tested in the second set but held her nerve in the tie break to complete a fine campaign in Wuhan.
The doubles events also brought exciting finishes. In the boys’ doubles final, the top-seeded pair of Aarav Chhallani of India and Nicholas Pak of Singapore claimed the title, defeating China’s Wei Yiran and Xiao Ma. The victory added another strong result to a successful week of competition.
The girls’ doubles final was an all-Chinese contest, with Wang Yanke and Sirui Liu taking on Mengxiao Li and Yuhan Zhu. After losing the opening set, Wang and Liu fought back well to win 2-6 6-3 (11-9) and lift the title. For Wang Yanke, it was a memorable tournament as she finished with both the girls’ singles and doubles titles.
The week in Wuhan once again showed the growing depth of junior tennis in Asia. With players from different countries competing across singles and doubles, the event gave young talents important exposure and the chance to build confidence for the next stage of their tennis journey. The closing ceremony marked the end of a successful edition of the ATF 14&U Grade A Tournament for East Asia, celebrating the champions, runners-up, participants, officials and organisers who contributed to the event.
