Fifth seeded Jie Zheng of China defeated Jamea Jackson of USA 6-1, 7-5 in the second round of Guangzhou International Women's Open 2005 in Guangzhou, China.
In the first round match, third seeded Na Li of China defeated Shikha Uberoi of India to enter the second round.
