Sun produced major upset in second round

Wild card entrant Tiantian Sun of china stunned fourth seed Serena Williams of USA in the second round of the $585,000 China Open in Beijing, China. She defeated Williams in two straight sets 6-2, 7-6(7). It was the biggest career win for Sun, who reaches her second career Sony Ericsson WTA Tour quarterfinal.

Sun wasn't alone in the win column for China as countrywoman Peng Shuai also advanced, while Japan's Shinobu Asagoe upset No.7 seed Tatiana Golovin, 63 64 in the first round.
