Paes-Damm in men's doubles semifinal at US Open 2006

Leander Paes and his Czech partner Martin Damm reached the semi-finals in the men's doubles event at the US Open on Thursday.The sixth-seeded Indo-Czech duo beat Russian Mikhail Youzhny and Czech partner Leos Friedl 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 in their quarter-final clash at Flushing Meadows. Paes and Damm won a total of 90 points in a match that lasted just over two hours on day 11 of the US Open.
The sixth seeded Indo-Czech pair won 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 to set up a meeting with fourth seeds Paul Hanley of Australia and Kevin Ullyett of Zimbabwe, who defeated fifth seeds Fabrice Santoro of France and Nenad Zimonjic of Serbia 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 in another quarter-final.
