Sania ousts top seed Zvonareva

Eighth seeded Sania Mirza of India ousts top seed Vera Zvonareva of Russia in the quarterfinals of the $170,000 AIG Japan Open Tennis Championships 2005 in Tokyo, Japan. Eighteen year old Sania defeated Zvonareva in three sets 57 62 64.
She will now play against the winner of Tatiana Golovin and Ai Sugiyama tie for the place in the finals.
