Morigami dispatches Krajicek

MELBOURNE, Australia Akiko Morigami joined compatriot Ai Sugiyama in the second round of the women's singles after a straight sets defeat of Michaella Krajicek at the Australian Open on Tuesday.
World No. 49 Morigami broke her 33rd-ranked Dutch opponent three times in an aggressive first set before going on to comfortably book her place in the second round for the second year running with a 6-2, 6-2 win at Melbourne Park .
Sugiyama advanced to the second round after Vera Zvonareva of Russia retired during the second set of their first-round match on Monday with Sugiyama leading 6-3, 1-1.
