Chan loose the final battle - Bangkok Open

BANGKOK - Chan Yung-jan (TPE) lost to Flavia Pennetta (ITA) 1-6 3-6 in the Bangkok Open on Sunday.

(7) Pennetta took over the match from the outset, breaking Chan in the first game before racing through the first set with a string of precise and powerful forehands down the line.

The rain delay appeared to have done Chan some good after she returned with renewed vigour, breaking Pennetta in the first game with heavy topspin lobs and stinging forehands into the corners of the court.

Pennetta served well and breaked Chan's serve three times on her way to the title.
