IC ASIAN JUNIOR CHALLENGE - 22 - 24 OCTOBER 2009

 Dear All, 

IC Asian Junior Challenge will be conducted for the 2 nd consecutive year, by The All India Tennis Association (AITA) in conjunction with IC Club of India, at the RK Khanna Tennis Stadium, New Delhi, from 22 October to 24 October 2009. This is a build up to the finals of the IC 16 & Under World Junior Challenge which is also likely to be held at Delhi in April 2010, where teams from 6 regions i.e. Europe, Australasia, S America, N America, S Africa and Asia would vie for top honours. Each team will consist of 2 boys and two girls and 1 captain/coach. The players would be U/16 years of age and not have reached his/her 17 th birthday in the year of the regional Challenge (31 Dec, 2009). 

For the Asian Challenge, a total of 6 teams inclusive of a team from host nation would be participating. A round robin group playing format or straight knockout will be decided depending upon the number of teams participating. The playing format would be best of three sets with 3 rd set a pro tie break.

There is an entry fee of 500 USD per team.  Each team will be responsible for their return travel to New Delhi.  The teams will be received at the airport. Complementary accommodation and hospitality shall be provided by AITA from 22 nd October to 24 th October, 2009.

Free airport pickup and drop and on court refreshments will be provided.  IC Council will provide some assistance for airfare to each winning team and its captain for the World Finals to be held in April 2010. Hosts will provide free boarding and lodging. They will also provide suitable trophies for winners and Sportsmanship Awards to one boy and one girl.

Kindly intimate  your willingness to participate and the names of players along with Captain latest by 01 Jun 09 . The first five entries would be accepted to participate in the IC Asian Challenge.

  I am attaching a brief history and information about the event along with a copy of the rules and regulations of the IC 16 and Under World Junior Challenge. FACT SHEET will be sent to the selected participating Nations and placed on the ATF Web Sites http://www.asiantennis.com   in due course.
