Sania, Shinobu fail to enter third round

Thirty second seeded Sania Mirza of India failed to enter the second round of the A$ 19,300,000 Australian Open in Melbourne, Australia when she was defeated by Michaella Krajicek of Netherlands in the second round. Krajicek defeated Mirza in two straight sets 6-3 75.
In another second round match Shinobu Asagoe of Japan went down to seventeenth seeded Patty Schnyder of Switzerland 6-1 7-6(9).
