Ai Sugiyama of Japan and Sania Mirza of India crash out in the first round of the womens singles at $1,000,000 Dubai Duty Free Womens Open in Dubai, UAE. Sugiyama lost to Lucie Safarova of Czech Republic 62 63 an0d Mirza went down to Martina Hingis of Switzerland 63 75.
In another first round matches, Chinese Li Na lost to eighth seeded Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia and Zheng Jie was defeated by sixth seeded Anastasia Myskina of Russia.
