Zheng Jie wins the Nordea Nordic Light Open Tournament

STOCKHOLM, Sweden - Zheng Jie of China has ousted Anastasia Myskina of Russia in the women's Final of the $145,000 Nordea Nordic Light Open, 6-4, 6-1. Zheng, the No.3 seed, did not drop a set through the first four rounds of the Tier IV event, and continued her solid form against a top-seeded Myskina in the final, keeping her unforced errors to a minimum and controlling the rallies by hitting the ball early and powerfully.

The victory has made Zheng the third player this year to win both singles and doubles titles at a WTA Tour event, after Anna-Lena Groenefeld did so in Acapulco and Shahar Peer achieved the feat in Prague. Zheng Jie has done this once before, at Hobart last year, capturing the doubles title with Yan Zi.
